SAN FRANCISCO DRAMATIC CHRONICLE, January 26, 1866, [p. 2].

[EDITOR'S NOTE: The author of this item is unknown. Clemens wrote a report on January 24, 1866 about attending a seance conducted by Ada Foye. It appeared in the Territorial Enterprise under the heading "Among the Spiritualists." In February he contributed two additional items to the Enterprise on spiritualism titled "Mark Twain A Committee Man" and "Spiritual Insanity."]

_____

GHOSTLY

"Mark Twain" seems to be just now running heavy on ghosts, spirits, apparitions, haunted houses, and the like pleasing class of subjects. His letters to the Enterprise are overflowing with this jovial style of matter, and he is just frightening the sage brush people out of their three and a half senses.
