SAN FRANCISCO DRAMATIC CHRONICLE, February 12, 1866, [p. 3].

[EDITOR'S NOTE: The author of this item is unknown. Clemens wrote a report on January 24, 1866 about attending a seance conducted by Ada Foye. It appeared in the Territorial Enterprise under the heading "Among the Spiritualists." In February he contributed two additional items to the Enterprise on spiritualism titled "Mark Twain A Committee Man" and "Spiritual Insanity."]

_____

NOT TRUE

We are authorized to contradict the report that "Mark Twain" has become a Spiritualist, and is "being developed as a medium" through the agency of one of the High Priestesses of the "Religion of the Future." "Mark" thinks that he is already "developed" to as great an extent as he considers desirable in the earthly and probationary state.
