SAN FRANCISCO DRAMATIC CHRONICLE, March 7, 1866, [p. 2].

[EDITOR'S NOTE: The author of this item is unknown.]

_____

FOR THE ISLANDS

"Mark Twain," the funniest man now on top of the earth, so far as heard from, sails for the Sandwich Islands in the Ajax to-day. He will correspond with the Sacramento Union, and everyone who knows "Mark's" quality will join with us in the wish that his letters may be frequent and long. We enjoin it upon the commander of the Ajax to take especial care of "Mark," for he is worth more than all the ship's cargo. In these dismal days who shall put an estimate upon the value of a man who can make you laugh as "Mark" can?
